Three things shorten the visit more than anything else. None of them are essential — ring anyway if you do not have them.

The model and serial number. On a range it is on a plate behind the kick panel or inside the lower drawer; on a wall oven it is on the frame behind the door.

Hood came on by itself in the middle of the night, twice. A sticking membrane switch in the touch strip. He replaced the strip, then stayed to run every speed twice before he called it done.

The high-output burner would light then die whenever the hood ran on high. Make-up air, he said, and proved it by cracking a window. Adjusted the burner and explained what a bathroom fan was doing to it.
